The Ground Zero Mosque

A mosque at the site where nearly 3,000 innocent people were murdered on 11 September, 2001. I have been thinking about this ever since I first heard about it last week. How do I feel about this? At first I was outraged. Really angry. What I didn’t expect was that as the day wore on and I thought more and more about the religious freedoms we hold so dear, I began to soften. I began thinking they have every right to have a mosque. They have every right to open their mosque right there where so many perished at the hands of that very religion. Yes, I thought; they have a right. THEN I READ THIS ARTICLE. This is NOTHING but a sign of conquest to the zealots who praise the deeds carried out that fateful day. This is not about religious freedom, but about the twisted notion of religious domination. I am pissed again. I hope the idea of designating it a historic landmark works and stops the opening of this place of hateship.

A.G. Holder and Arizona’s Enforcement Law

So we have now found out that Attorney General Eric Holder has not read the new Arizona law. Well, well how typical. Right after the bill was signed late last month Holder was all about how it was going to be challenged in the courts and there were a number of options under consideration.
Here he is, THE Attorney General of the United States. He has not read the bill, but has offered his opinion on it freelysee here and here.
I am not the Attorney General of the United States, but I have read the new Arizona Law. I read it as soon as I could find it because it was important.
I would like to know one thing: DOES ANYONE IN WASHINGTON DC KNOW HOW TO READ???

A Bloomberg story this morning reports the sale of a Jasper Johns painting of the American flag for $28.6 million at auction!
The painting came from the estate of the late Michael Chrichton who originally obtained the painting directly from his long time freind artist Jasper Johns.

Wow. Where do you hang that?

Section 1 says it all : Intent

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

2 Section 1.

Intent3 The legislature finds that there is a compelling interest in the

4 cooperative enforcement of federal immigration laws throughout all of

5 Arizona. The legislature declares that the intent of this act is to make

6 attrition through enforcement the public policy of all state and local

7 government agencies in Arizona. The provisions of this act are intended to

8 work together to discourage and deter the unlawful entry and presence of

9 aliens and economic activity by persons unlawfully present in the United

10 States.

California Cities Want to Boycott?

Arizona’s new law Senate Bill 1070 was signed into law this week by AZ Governor Jan Brewer. May Day protests are planned across the country. Now comes the fun part. California, particularly the cities of San Francisco, and San Diego are calling for boycotts of Arizona. Does no one see this as ironic? California a state which is coming apart at the seams financially, wants to boycott? I have to laugh! I haven’t found the numbers on California’s budget as it applies to illegal aliens. However there is a lot of information to be found at FAIR. I don’t think it actually takes an accounting degree to figure out that when you have a large population which does not contribute to the income tax base and yet requires services, you will come up short. This may or may not be the biggest drain on California’s budget, but the fact is, it doesn’t help. If the number is even five billion a year, isn’t that too much for a state in financial crisis?
So Arizona has passed an enforcement law. Arizona is trying to protect it’s citizens not only from crime (which by definition an ILLEGAL ALIEN brings with him) but also from the fiscal impact of services, incarceration, education etc. which comes along with illegal immigration. So California, how about you just shut up. After all, it will be the rest of the country that bails you out when you can no longer function independently. I, as part of the rest of the country don’t appreciate it. When you get your act together then maybe the rest of the country will give you an ear. As for me, I am heading to Arizona in two weeks. I’ll probably spend some of my money there, and on the way home I will not pass through California. ***And by the way Mexico, you can shove your warnings about people being mistreated by our police. If you care so much about your people, maybe you should clean up your own mess so your people would want to stay in their own country! And that goes to all countries who want to protest how the U.S. handles illegal immigration!

An Open Letter to Glenn Beck

Sir,
I first off would like to say out front that I am a fan of your show. I watch your show most days, listen to a part of your radio program most days and I have read two of your books. I would like to thank you for the work you do so well. I have questions though. You do always tell us to “Question with boldness” and I’d like to do that now even though I know I won’t get through the question before you have me fixed for a nut case. I am no nut case, and these are not generally issues I ever attend to. I am no 911 truther. I’m not even really a birther. There are people out there who are. Do they not have the right to “question with boldness” as you proclaim? What is wrong with the questions? What is it about this issue that bothers you so much?
I listened to your interview with Medina of Texas and how you smeared her for the 911 issue. I listen when you berate people who question the citizenship of our current president. You call them crazy. Where is your regard for their concerns? You malign people for doubts. Truthers? Yes, I think it is a farfetched idea. However there have been governments that have done worse. Are these people allowed to voice their concerns and “question with boldness” like anyone else? They should be. Birthers? Again it may sound crazy but they have a right. I would say birthers actually have legitimate points, in that the constitution requires citizenship for our president. There is also a reason for that. Our founders, whom you like to look to for guidance, did not want someone who might have issues of allegiance. I don’t know all the ins and outs of what they believe, but I do know that an anouncement in a newspaper is not proof of citizenship. I could not bring in the newspaper anouncement from my birth as proof enough for a driver’s license! And yet for some reason when someone even raises the issue, you get your dander up and start demeaning them in a way which would make Alinsky proud!
So my questions to you are as follow: Do you indeed believe that we should “question with boldness”? Or does that only apply to the issues which you and the management at Fox News find palatable?
