Ok so I was trying to leave a Global warming comment but it was closed so here I am.

Explain to me why people think the oceans will rise to imcredible new level if the sea ice melts. If the ice is floating in the water already why would it melting cause the sea to rise? When I have a glass of water 3/4 full of ice and it melts in the sun (because of local global warming) why does't it overflow? Hummmmmm
