Green Jobs!

Please take a minute to go to mises.org to read this article by George Reisman on the so called ‘green job’ creation via Chairman Obeyme’s stimulus. He is pointing out, by extrapolation and evaluating the solution at it’s extremes, the fact that to create an energy bubble in wind and solar power via stimulus by creating false demand for an inherently inefficient solution, will be very expensive and ultimately fail. I’m all for wind and solar energy deployed in applications that make sense, and the development and need for which are market driven. Guess what? If these technologies were viable as a grid-level power source, they would already exist as our primary source of power. The market ALWAYS selects the most efficient solution and, to date, it has not selected either of the two leading candidates mentioned by our Dear Leader. But, of course, our standard of living and the cost of energy are not his concern. His primary concern is being loved by all the world at America’s expense, because Daddy didn’t love him enough to hang around- he was out living ‘his dream’ of impregnating women and leaving bastard children around the globe.
