17th Amendment Impact Addressed by Ron Paul

Apparently, Ron Paul also believes the 17th Amendment to be a bad idea. I didn’t know that until I saw this video with Judge Napalitano on EarthFrisk blog. It’s kind of lengthy, but Paul gets to the point before the halfway point. If you’ve read my 17th Amendment posts, you’ll already know that I believe that this Amendment fundamentally changed the system of checks and balances within the Congress. I also believe that if this doesn’t get fixed by repeal, that the Republic, your money, and our system of Government by the people, are doomed.
Now I know that sounds apocalyptic, but we are operating under a system other than that which was designed by the Framers of the Constitution, who foresaw all of the problems that we have today and designed a system that would have avoided them, had it been left intact. Spending will never be under control until the State’s rights of representation are restored within the U.S. Senate.
